How to find your feet when you start freelancing

Start Freelancing Quick
I’ve been freelancing for a while now and there are a lot of essential things I’ve learnt along the way, I’m sharing what I feel is vital for any sort of success during your initial period as a freelancer.

Don’t waste time on job boards

They pay less and your competition will charge half of what the job is worth. If you already have experience, your target market is probably not the client who doesn’t value his brand or work and opts for the cheapest bid on the project. He will never appreciate the quality of your work either.

Stop looking for ‘Freelance Tips’ on Google

The people that blog about that stuff regularly are in it for the pageviews. There are some exceptions. You could instead read about it on some renowned websites such as FreelanceSwitch etc. I would suggest you read some books instead ‘The E-Myth Revisited: Why Most Small Businesses Don’t Work and What to Do About It’
